The Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) has declared Sunday and Monday, April 19-20, 2020, as bank holidays in Egypt to mark Coptic Easter and Sham El-Nessim ("Egypt’s banks will resume operations on Tuesday").

The aforementioned declaration of Sunday and Monday, April 19-20, 2020, as bank holidays in Egypt, is in line with the annual list of 2020 bank holidays in Egypt, as announced earlier this year by Egypt's Central Bank (2020-01-13).

Note that, as usual (2019-01-16, 2017-09-03, 2017-01-07, 2015-12-31 and 2015-01-01), the aforementioned list of 2020 bank holidays in Egypt and Egyptian public holidays in 2020 did not include the common last-minute declaration of one-off bank holidays to compensate annual Egyptian bank holidays that fall on a weekend (2019-10-30, 2019-06-27, 2019-04-17, 2019-01-21, 2018-12-26, 2018-09-30, 2018-07-16, 2018-06-11, 2018-04-03, 2016-05-01, 2014-04-22, 2013-04-30 and 2012-10-01), but that this is not the case here, as the Sunday, April 19, bank holiday is a bank holiday date, per se.
