The supervisory body in charge of the banking sector in Guatemala (the Superintendencia de Bancos de Guatemala) has announced that Tuesday, June 30, 2020, had been declared as a bank holiday in Guatemala, on account of the annual, Día del Empleado Bancario bank holiday of Guatemala ("el Día Del Empleado Bancario se conmemora el 1 de julio (miércoles), y la JM autorizó correrlo al martes").
The aforementioned announcement is in line with the list of annual bank holidays in Guatemala and afferent rules thereto, as announced a decade ago (2009-12-17) in the "Reglamento de Asuetos de las Instituciones Bancarias que operan en la República (Resolución JM-129-2009)", as well as with the list of official bank holidays for the calendar year 2020 in Guatemala released earlier this year (2019-11-17) and re-confirmed earlier today (2020-06-26).
