Guyana's Minister of Public Security, Khemraj Ramjattan, has stated that he was contemplating the declaration of Monday, March 2, 2020, as a one-off public holiday in Guyana, on account of that day's elections ("I’m considering that (the calls) because I noticed that in 2011 and 2015, I noticed Clement Rohee making it a public holiday. I want to hear the arguments").
Last autumn (2019-09-25), Guyana's President, David Granger, had announced that Monday, March 2, 2020, would be the date of the upcoming regional and general elections in Guyana, leading us to surmise that Monday, March 2, 2020, would probably be declared a one-off electoral public holiday in Guyana.
