Haryana Electoral Public Holiday December 27

The Government of India's state of Haryana has issued the Notification No. Elec-2020/IR-II/PSCE/Hol declaring Sunday, December 27, 2020, as a one-off non-working public holiday on account of that day's municipal council polls ("in exercise of the powers conferred by the second proviso of sub-section (I) of section 10 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958 (Punjab Act 15 of 1958) and all other powers enabling him in this behalf, the Governor of Haryana hereby fixes "Sunday" the 27.12.2020 to be close day (Holiday) for all Shops and Commercial Establishments falling in the above mentioned jurisdiction of President and Members of all the wards of Municipal Council, Rewari, Municipal Committee, Sampla (Rohtak), Dharuhera (Rewari) and Uklana (Hisar) and Bye-elction of W.No. 07 of Municipal Committee, lndri (Karna!), W.No. 13 of Bhuna (Fatehabad), W.No. 12 of Rajound (Kaithal), W. No. 14 of Municipal Council, Fatehabad and W.No. 29 of Municipal Council, Sirsa where the general election is going to be held on 27.12.2020 (Sunday) as per notification of State Election Commission as mentioned above.").

The aforementioned notification of a public holiday in India's state of Haryana, on Sunday, December 27, 2020, the date of upcoming municipal polls, signed by Pankaj Agarwal, the Secretary to Government Haryana's Labour Department, further amends (2020-12-04 and 2019-12-05) the list of "the days which will be non-working public holidays" in India's state of Haryana for the calendar year 2020, as set out in the Haryana Government vide notification No.28/67 /2018-3GSII covering General Holidays, Restricted Holidays, and Holidays declared under N.I. Act, 1881, released late last year (2019-12-05).
