India 2021 Puducherry Public Holidays Announced

The government of India's Union Territory of Puducherry has announced the list of official state non-working public holidays in India's Union Territory of Puducherry for the upcoming calendar year 2021, in the ("The Hon’ble Lieutenant-Governor, Puducherry, is pleased to declare that all Government Offices/Government Undertakings, Boards and other Institutions under the control of Government of Puducherry and all Banking Institutions including Co-operative Banks in the Union territory of Puducherry shall be closed on the days specified in the notification in Appendix-I and Appendix-II respectively during the Calendar Year 2021.").

The aforementioned list of official state non-working public holidays in India's Union Territory of Puducherry for the upcoming calendar year 2021 (G.O. Ms. No. 80, Puducherry, dated 7th October 2020, La Gazette de L' État de Poudouchéry/The Gazette of Puducherry), is signed by the State's Under Secretary to Government, M.V. Hiran, and specifies different public holidays for the 4 non-contiguous regions of Puducherry; Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam, as well as 2 dates of expected holidays are not listed ("The following festivals, which fall on Sunday during the year 2021, have been excluded from the Holiday List"), as was done in previous years (2019-10-26, 2018-10-28, 2017-11-26, 2016-11-13 and 2010-11-30).

Subsequent amendments to the aforementioned, list of non-working public holidays in India's Union Territory of Puducherry for the upcoming calendar year 2021, are always possible, as was the case for the 2019 calendar year (2019-10-22, 2019-09-06, 2019-08-14, 2019-03-28 and 2019-01-09), though none have occurred, so far for the calendar year 2020.
