Jordan's Prime Minister, Bisher Khasawneh, has issued a circular decreeing a non-working public holiday in Jordan on Thursday, October 29, 2020, to commemorate the upcoming annual Jordanian non-working public holiday for Mawlid al-Nabawi al-Sharif (Prophet Mohammad's birthday).

The aforementioned announcement of Thursday, October 29, 2020, as the date of the upcoming annual Prophet Mohammad's birthday non-working public holiday in Jordan, is in line with the list of official non-working 2020 public holidays in Jordan, as released a year ago (2019-09-17).

In the past (2019-11-04, 2015-12-04 and 2014-01-07), the Jordanian public holiday for Prophet Mohammad's Birthday was often moved to either Sunday or Thursday, to adjoin a nearby weekend, as is often done, in particular Labour Day Hijri New Year (2019-04-24, 2017-04-26, 2013-10-31, 2013-04-19, 2013-01-17, 2012-04-24 and 2006-04-25), though not always (2019-05-20, 2016-05-13, 2016-04-26 and 2014-10-20).
