    As per the aforementioned communique, "Workers and employers in the public and private sectors are hereby informed that, in accordance with the communiqué of the Federation of Islamic Associations of Burkina Faso (FAIB) of May 17, 2026, which sets Wednesday, May 27, 2026 as the day of the Eid al-Adha or Tabaski festival, and in accordance with Article 2 of Law No. 01-2026/ALT of January 9, 2026, establishing paid holidays and days of commemoration and reflection in Burkina Faso, Wednesday, May 27, 2026 is declared a paid holiday throughout the national territory.".

    As per the aforementioned notification, "In partial modification of this Administration’s Notification No. 6/1/1-IH(I)-2025/17488-95, dated 30.12.2025 regarding declaring of Public Holidays in the Union Territory of Chandigarh during the calendar year 2026, the 28th May, 2026 (Thursday) will now be observed as Public Holiday in all the Government Offices/Boards/ Corporations/ Institutions including Industrial Establishments under the Chandigarh Administration and also within the meaning of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 on account of Id-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) instead of Public Holiday already declared on 27th May, 2026 (Wednesday)".

    The Philippines House of Representatives has approved HB No. 8392, declaring national election day a regular non-working holiday, on third and final reading.

    HB No. 8392 amends the Administrative Code to add "National Election Day" to the list of regular holidays, replacing the current classification as a special non-working holiday.

    The Bill states that "every national election shall be a regular non-working holiday to incentivize the electorate who exercise their democratic right of suffrage" and defines national elections to include plebiscites, referenda, people’s initiatives, recall elections, special elections, other processes of voting of a similar nature which are national in scope.

    As per the aforementioned announcement, "This year, by the unanimous fatwa adopted by the Council of Heads of Religious Administrations of the Organization of Turkic States on May 18, 2026, the holiday date was confirmed as May 27. In accordance with Sharia, animal sacrifice may begin on May 27 and continue for 3 days. Eid prayers will be performed in our mosques on May 27, InshaAllah".
