Jordan's Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Bisher Al Khasawneh, has issued a circular decreeing non-working public holidays in Jordan on Thursday, December 24, 2020, and Thursday, December 31, 2020 ("December 24 and 31 will be observed as official holiday for Christian employees and students on the occasions of Christmas and the New Year").
The aforementioned announcement of public holidays in Jordan on Thursday, December 24, 2020, and Thursday, December 31, 2020, does specify that these public holidays are for Christians only, and otherwise is in line with the list of official non-working 2020 public holidays in Jordan, as released last year (2019-09-17) and the list of official non-working 2021 public holidays in Jordan, as released a couple of month ago (2020-10-08).
A similar announcement was made last year (2019-12-19), when then Jordanian Prime Minister, Omar Razzaz, issued a circular decreeing non-working public holidays in Jordan on Wednesday, December 25, 2019, Thursday, December 26, 2019, and Wednesday, January 1, 2020.
