The Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resource Development of the government of Kiribati has announced its annual list of official non-working public holidays for the 2020 calendar year.

As usual (2019-01-11, 2018-01-09, 2017-01-15, 2016-01-04, 2015-01-17, 2014-02-08, 2013-01-07, 2011-10-28, 2010-12-19 and 2010-01-03), the traditional week long public holidays in July, are composed of 4 distinct public holidays, and days in lieu, as specified in the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2005 (No. 14 of 2005)" (An Act To Amend The Public Holidays Ordinance) (2005-12-30).

The dates of the October and early December Kiribati public holidays seem to follow a new tend that was begun a few years ago and which now deviates from the precepts of the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Act 2005 (No. 14 of 2005)".
