The Kuwaiti Civil Service Commission, concerning the upcoming National Day and Liberation Day Kuwaiti public holidays, has confirmed that "Thursday, February 27 will be considered as a holiday since it falls between a public holiday and the weekend", meaning that Kuwaiti National Day public holidays will run from Tuesday, February 25, until Saturday, February 29, 2020, inclusively.
As per the aforementioned announcement, "Thursday, February 27 will be considered as a holiday since it falls between a public holiday and the weekend, based on the Cabinet's decision No. 4/1979 issued on July 22, 1979 concerning public holidays, and amendments to it through decision No. 252 concerning the transfer of some public holidays" and that "official work will resume on March 1".
In the past (2019-01-28, 2017-02-21 and 2016-02-15), the announced dates of the non-working public holidays for the National Day and Liberation Day annual public holidays, though they overlapped with a weekend in Kuwait (2007-08-04 and 2007-06-03), had given cause for no day in lieu public holiday, as had been done on preceding occasions (2012-02-16 and 2011-01-22), though only for the public sector.
