Macau's Chief Executive has once again announced additional, one-off, non-working public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2021 (行政长官于二零二零年四月二日批示公共行政工作人员获准豁免上班日期 - Exemption from work granted to public employees by the Chief Executive on 2 April 2020).
The aforementioned announcement of 7 full-days and 2 afternoon, non-working public holidays in 2021 ("Exemption from work granted to public employees by the Chief Executive on 2 April 2020" and "Compensatory rest days for public employees set forth in No. 4 of Article 79 of the ETAPM" - 《澳门公共行政工作人员通则》第七十九条第四款规定的公共行政工作人员补假), follow a trend started a few years ago, and was made under the purview of the "Decree Law No. 60/2000 on Public Holidays" (2019-06-07, 2018-03-16, 2017-03-10, 2016-04-17, 2015-04-15, 2014-03-25, 2013-02-23, 2012-03-20, 2011-07-22, 2010-03-31, 2009-06-30, 2009-03-27, 2004-05-21, 2006-01-16, 2007-01-31, and 2007-03-13).
