Malta Bankers' Association has issued a communique reminding the public that Saturday, December 26, 2020, had been declared a bank holiday in Malta, and that "in view of this those banks usually open on Saturdays, will be closed for business on the day".
Today's announcement ("L-Assocjazzjoni tal-Bankiera Maltin tixtieq tfakkar lill-pubbliku li s-Sibt, 26 ta’ Dicembru 2020 giet ddikjarata bhala Vaganza tal-Banek, u ghaldaqstant dawk il-banek li normalment jifthu s-Sibt, m’humiex se jifthu ghall- pubbliku f’dan il-jum.") is in line with the list of 2020 bank holidays in Malta, as announced by Malta Bankers' Association, earlier this year (2020-01-13), a list which differs from the official list of public holidays in Malta (2020-01-06).
