The government of Myanmar has released an extension to its previously-released list of the dates of the official Myanmar bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Myanmar for the calendar year 2020, by declaring a compensatory public holiday on Friday, November 13, 2020, as the annual Deepavali public holiday of Myanmar falls on a Saturday, in 2020.
The government of Myanmar announced a similar extension, to the 2019 Deepavali public holidays of Myanmar, last year, when it added a compensatory public holiday on Monday, October 28, 2019, as the annual Deepavali public holiday of Myanmar falls on a Sunday in 2019 (2019-08-31).
The aforementioned announcement completes and amends the list of the dates of the official Myanmar annual bank holidays and non-working public holidays in Myanmar for the calendar year 2020, released late last year (2019-12-29), in line with the summer of 2019 decision by the government of Myanmar that "if Saturday and Sunday coincide with a holiday, it has been decided to set it as a transfer holiday" (2019-08-21).
