A committee of the Nepalese Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, has recommended to the government that it implement a two-day weekly holiday for employees.
The idea of a two-day weekend in Nepal last resurfaced a decade ago (2009-07-25 and 2009-02-05).
But, apart for a brief interval in 2000-2001 (2001-01-13), when a two-day weekend was tried, Nepal has observed a one-day weekend on Saturdays, for decades.
