The Chief Minister of the government of Nepal's Province-2, Lalbabu Raut, has announced that it had declared Saturday, November 21, 2020, as a second Chhath public holiday ("Friday and Saturday have been declared public holidays this year for Chhath celebrations").
Friday, November 20, 2020, was already a national public holiday in Nepal, not for Chhath but rather on account of International Children's Day, as per the gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year B.S. 2077 (April 2020-April 2021), as announced earlier this year (2020-03-31).
Over the years, Nepal has often tinkered with the list of public holidays with the last-minute addition of a one-off public holiday for Chhath (2017-10-26, 2014-10-27, 2013-11-07, and 2011-10-30).
