The Minister of Interior of the Federal Government of Nigeria, Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola, has announced that the Federal Government of Nigeria had declared Friday, May 1, 2020 as a public holiday in Nigeria to mark this year’s International Workers’ Day.

As was the case in past years (2018-04-25, 2017-04-28, 2016-04-29, 2015-04-28, 2014-04-29, 2013-04-27 and 2012-04-27), the aforementioned declaration of Tuesday, May 1st, 2018, as a non-working public holiday in Nigeria corresponds to the upcoming annual public holiday for Workers' Day.
