The IPR Department of the Government of India's state of Odisha has declared a one-off non-working public sector holiday on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, due to the call for Bharat Bandh of the state's farmer organizations ("As the public transport in Odisha is yet to be resumed in a full-fledged manner due to the prevailing coronavirus pandemic, the bandh will further aggravate dependence on public transport. As there will be a rush of government employees to avail the passenger transport, the strike is likely to affect the measures being taken by the government to prevent the spread of Covid-19 as there are chances of further contamination of the disease. Keeping this in view, all government offices will remain closed").
The aforementioned announcement of a one-off non-working public sector holiday on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, due to the upcoming Bharat Bandh, further amends (2020-01-13) last year's notification of the annual list of the days which were to be non-working public holidays in India's state of Odisha for the calendar year 2020, as contained in the Government Notification "RDM-Reg-REGN-0050-2019-32559, Dated 23.10.2019" issued by the General Administration department of Odisha, last autumn (2019-10-23).
