Oman To Maintain Date Of National Day

The new Sultan of Oman, Sultan Haitham, has announced that the date of the Omani National Day would remain November 18, which corresponds to the date of Sultan Qaboos', his predecessor's, birthday.

Sultan Haitham came to power, following the death of Sultan Qaboos Bin Said of Oman (2020-01-11).

Despite the Omani National Day being observed on November 18 (2009-11-18), the corresponding Omani public holidays are regularly moved to a Wednesday and Thursday, later in the month, and the actual dates of the corresponding public holidays dates are usually announced at the last minute (2019-11-17, 2018-11-12, 2017-11-19, 2016-11-16, 2015-11-18, 2014-11-18, 2013-11-13, 2012-11-19, 2011-11-19, 2010-12-11, 2009-11-20, 2008-11-17, 2007-11-13, and 2006-11-16).
