The Solomon Islands Government Cabinet has approved the cancellation of the upcoming commemoration of the 2 next Solomon Islands public holidays, the Quaeen's Birthday on June 12, and Independence Day, on July 7, 2020 ("the public celebrations usually hosted by the Government House and the Government to commemorate these two events on both days are canceled").
However the Solomon Islands Government goes on to state that "Friday the 12th of June and Tuesday 7th July will still be observed as national public holidays", leaving unamended the list of 2020 public holidays in the Solomon Islands, as released by the government of the Solomon islands, late last year (2019-12-26).
