Sri Lanka's Minister of Public Administration, Home Affairs and Provincial Councils and Local Government, Janaka Bandara, has published in the "Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka" (No. 2178/16), its annual official list of the Sri Lankan Poya Day non-working public holidays in Sri Lanka for the upcoming calendar year 2021.
As per the Holidays Act, Section 2., Declaration regarding Full Moon Poya Days and Sundays, (Volume IV - Laws of Sri Lanka) "It is hereby declared that every Full Moon Poya Day and every Sunday - (a) shall be a public holiday; and (b) shall be a Bank holiday".
