Transdniestria Declares April 21-24 Additional Public Holidays

Transdniestria's Prime Minister, Alexander Martynov, has signed the Government Decision No. 122 which extends the current Easter weekend public holidays for the remainder of the week, Tuesday-Friday, April 21-24, 2020.

Today's decree declaring Tuesday-Friday, April 21-24, 2020, public holidays in the Transdniestrian Moldovan Republic (Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublika) thus amends the list of public holidays for the upcoming calendar year 2020, in accordance with article 112 of the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovskaia Moldavskaia Respublika (2019-05-29).

As was done often (2019-12-25, 2019-05-29, 2018-06-15, 2017-12-20, 2017-05-01, 2016-07-08, 2015-09-20 and 2012-12-27), but not always (2014-12-15 and 2013-12-30), the aforementioned extension of the current Easter weekend public holidays for the remainder of the week, will be compensated by the declaration of the same number of Saturdays as regular working day for the remainder calendar year 2020.

These compensatory Saturday working days will be October 17, December 5 and 19, and Monday, November 9, which was slated to be a day in lieu public holiday due to the November 7 public holiday falling on a Sunday in 2020.
