The UAE's The Federal Authority for Government Human Resources has announced that the upcoming annual public sector holidays in the UAE for the Commemoration Day and National Day would run from Tuesday to Thursday, December 1-3, 2020.

As weekends in the UAE were changed for Thursday/Friday to Friday/Saturday, almost 15 years ago (2006-08-15 and 2006-05-31), the aforementioned announcement goes on to state that "work will resume on Sunday, 6 December".

Recall that, last year (2019-03-05), the UAE government announced a list of public holidays in the UAE for both calendar years 2019 and 2020, contrary to the usual piecemeal announcements of the list of expected non-working public holidays in the UAE, one year at the time (2018-01-08, 2017-01-03, 2015-12-26, 2015-01-04, 2014-01-07 and 2012-12-29).
