Uganda's Parliament has rejected a motion to introduce the "Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2020", a private member’s bill sponsored by Juliet Suubi Kyinyamatama, which would create a day in lieu, or substitute, public holiday on the Monday following an annual public holiday of Uganda falling on a weekend day.
