The Acting Prime Minister of Abkhazia, Vladimir Delba, has signed an order of the Cabinet of Ministers, declaring Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16, 2021, as public holidays (Распоряжение Кабинета Министров Республики Абхазия от 13.01.2021 № 1 "О выходных нерабочих днях 15 и 16 января (пятница и субота) 2021 года").
The aforementioned announcement that Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16, 2021, have been declared as one-off public holidays thus amends the list of 2021 public holidays in Abkhazia, as released late last year by the government of Abkhazia (2020-11-26).
According to the order of the Cabinet of Ministers, "the upcoming Friday and Saturday were declared days off in order to provide conditions for disinfection measures in institutions and organizations aimed at preventing the spread of COVID-19 throughout the republic".
Contrary to what was done on previous occasions (2020-08-21), and in the list of 2021 Abkhazia public holidays, no compensation is mentioned in the the declaration of Friday and Saturday, January 15 and 16, 2021, as public holidays.
