Assam Declares General Election Public Holidays

The Government of India's state of Assam has declared the poll days for the General Election of Assam Legislative Assembly 2021, specifically March 27, April 1st and April 6 "as paid holidays to enable the workers/employees to cast their votes".

The aforementioned announcement that the Government of India's state of Assam had declared public holidays for the General Election of Assam Legislative Assembly 2021 "in all factories, plantations (including tea plantations), shops and commercial establishments, establishment, public entertainment or amusements, contractors establishment, firms and such other industries/workshops, commercial and business establishments and banking Institutions", is a further amendment (2021-01-08) to the list of Assam 2021 public holidays listed late last year, in the Government Notification No.GAG(A).81/2016/637 (2020-12-18).
