The Government of India's state of Assam has declared Tuesday, September 7, 2021, as a local holiday in the Namsai district as a mark of respect to the Tai Khamti Chief, Chow Khanchiang Namchoom, who passed away, earlier today.

The Tuesday, September 7, 2021, local holiday thus further amends (2021-03-28, 2021-03-09 and 2021-01-08) the list of Assam 2021 public holidays listed late last year, in the Government Notification No.GAG(A).81/2016/637 (2020-12-18).
