The Government of Belize has issued a statement clarifying the status of Pan American Day as a public holiday ("Kindly be reminded that Pan American Day will not be observed as a public and bank holiday.").
The aforementioned announcement is based on the recent Belize Holidays Act Amendments, introduced late last year (2020-12-31), by the the Minister of Home Affairs of the newly-formed government of Belize, Kareem Musa, and the enabling Designate New Holidays and Special Days Motion, 2021, adopted at the beginning of 2021 (2021-01-09).
These were implemented in the updated list of 2021 public holidays released in the late spring (2021-06-10).
