Costa Rican Guanacaste Annexation Public Holiday July 26

A spokesperson for the Costa Rican Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Geovanny Diaz, has announced that the upcoming Guanacaste Annexation public holiday of Costa Rica, would be observed on Monday, July 26, 2021, instead of its traditional date of July 25, 2021.

The aforementioned announcement is a consequence of the the 2020 passage of amendments to the labour code of Costa Rica (paragraph 185 of Law No. 9875), whereby many of the 2020-2024 Costa Rican public holidays were moved to adjoin a nearby weekend (2020-07-18, 2020-07-02, 2020-06-17, 2020-06-02, 2020-05-07 and 2020-04-22).
