The Cuban government has released the up-to-date list of annual non-working public holidays in Cuba for the calendar year 2021, based on "artículo 96 de la Ley 116 del Código de Trabajo".

Once again (2020-01-02, 2018-12-31, 2018-01-02, 2017-01-06, 2016-01-03, 2014-12-31, 2014-01-03 and 2013-03-18), the aforementioned list of non-working public holidays in Cuba for the calendar year 2021 confirms the addition of Christmas as a non-working public holiday in Cuba (1998-12-02, 1997-12-15, and 1996-12-02) as well as the extension of the January 1st non-working public holiday to span 3 days (2007-11-20), and the recent addition of Good Friday as a public holiday in Cuba (2014-04-15).

The announcement also specifies days in lieu substitute holidays when a public holiday falls on a Sunday ("cuando los días de conmemoración nacional coinciden con un domingo, se traslada para el día siguiente y se paga como si lo hubiera trabajado según la forma de pago. No procede el pago doble").

However, no such substitute public holiday is specified for public holidays falling on a Saturday ("Si los días de conmemoración nacional y feriados coinciden con un sábado, no se efectúa traslado y se aplica el tratamiento laboral y salarial dispuesto para estos días en correspondencia con el régimen de trabajo y descanso aprobados").
