Czech Republic 2022 Public Holidays Announced

The central bank of the Czech Republic, the Czech National Bank, has announced its annual list of bank holidays and public holidays for the calendar year 2022, based on the recently-amended legislation regulating non-working public holidays in the Czech Republic.

The aforementioned list of the Czech bank holidays and Czech public holidays for calendar year 2022, includes Good Friday, which was added to the list of annual non-working public holidays in the Czech Republic, 6 years ago (2016-01-07, 2015-12-03, 2015-10-24), after many years of discussions (2010-04-08, 2007-02-07 and 2006-11-03).

As per custom (2020-10-17, 2019-11-17, 2018-12-09, 2017-11-19, 2016-11-19, 2015-11-05, 2014-10-26, 2013-10-27, 2012-11-17, 2011-09-23, 2010-08-29 and 2009-10-01), the Czech National Bank announcement states that there are no day in lieu public holidays in the Czech Republic ("Except for Good Friday and Easter Monday, the dates of the holidays are fixed. The sliding holiday concept is not applied, i.e. when a holiday falls on a Saturday/Sunday, the following Monday is a normal business day").
