Gambian African Liberation Day Public Holiday May 25

The Office of the President of the Gambia has announced that Tuesday, May 25, 2021, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia "in observance of the African Liberation Day".

Note that, earlier this weekend, the Senior Communication Officer in the Office of The President, Ya Marie Bojang, had issued a formal statement to the effect that "Contrary to rumours, the General Public is hereby informed that Tuesday 25th May 2021 is NOT a Public Holiday.".

The aforementioned press release, for its part was released and signed by Gambia Government Spokesperson, Ebrima G. Sankareh.

The aforementioned announcement that Tuesday, May 25, 2021, had been declared as a non-working public holiday throughout Gambia is in line with past years' announcements (2021-04-30, 2021-03-30, 2021-02-17, 2020-10-27, 2020-04-30, 2019-04-26, 2018-04-27).
