The Office of the President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has declared Friday and Monday, April 2 and 5, 2021, as non-working public holidays throughout the Republic of The Gambia, on account of the upcoming Good Friday and Easter Monday.
The preamble to the aforementioned announcement read as follows: "In accordance with the provisions of section 76 (1) of the Constitution of the Republic of The Gambia, the Office of the President informs the public that Friday, 2nd and Monday 4th April 2021 will be public holidays throughout The Gambia in observance of the Christian Holy feast of Easter." (note the error in the date of Easter Monday).
The declaration of Friday and Monday, April 2 and 5, 2021, as non-working public holidays throughout the Republic of The Gambia, on account of the upcoming Good Friday and Easter Monday, is in line with past years' announcements (2020-04-07, 2018-03-28, 2016-03-23, 2011-04-21 and 2008-03-19).
