Guatemala's Ministry of Labour and Social Security (Mintrab) has announced that Guatemalan President, Alejandro Giammattei, had declared a one-off public sector holiday in Guatemala on Monday, May 3, 2021 ("el Gobierno de Guatemala concedió licencia con goce de salario el 3 de mayo a servidores públicos de las entidades centralizadas y descentralizadas").
The aforementioned declaration of a public sector holiday in Guatemala on Monday, May 3, 2021, is meant to be a compensation for the annual May 1st public holiday of Guatemala falling on a Saturday, in 2021, as was done on earlier occasions (2020-10-31), and thus amends the list of 2021 Guatemala public holidays, as announced last autumn (2020-11-13).
Note that, earlier this week, the Superintendencia de Bancos de Guatemala) announced that Monday, May 3, 2021, had been declared as a bank holiday in Guatemala, on account of the annual Día del Trabajo public holiday and related bank holiday (2021-04-27).
