Himachal Pradesh Panchayat Public Holidays September 30 and October 1st

The government of the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh has declared Wednesday, September 29, and Friday, October 1, 2021, as one-off public holidays on account of the Panchayati Raj Institutions polls to be held in the areas of Lahaul Spiti and Chamba districts.

Referring to the dates of Wednesday, September 29, and Friday, October 1, 2021, a spokesperson of the Himachal Pradesh state government stated that "All Government offices, boards, corporations, educational institutions and industrial establishments situated in the Himachal Pradesh under Industrial Disputes Act and shops will remain closed in these areas" and that "This will also be a paid holiday to daily wages employees and also within the meaning of section 25 of Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881".

Today's announcement further amends (2021-08-16, 2021-06-11, 2021-01-07 and 2021-01-06) the notification of the annual list of the days which were to be non-working public holidays in India's state of Himachal Pradesh for the calendar year 2021, as contained in the Government Order No. GAD- A(F)12-1/2020, issued late last year (2020-11-13).
