Madagascar 2021 Public Holidays Announced

Madagascar's Porte-parole du Gouvernement, Lalatiana Andriatongarivo, has released the minutes of the January 6 Cabinet meeting in which the list of 2021 public holidays in Madagascar was approved in the "Décret n°2021-011 du 6 janvier 2021 fixant la liste des jours fériés, chômés et payés au titre de l'année 2021".

As per custom (2020-01-04, 2019-03-09, 2018-02-26, 2017-02-01, 2016-01-05, 2015-02-05, 2014-02-13, 2013-01-30, 2012-01-18, 2011-01-15, 2010-01-20, 2009-01-13 and 2008-01-16), the aforementioned list of 2021 Madagascar public holidays confirms the cancellation, 7 years ago (2014-12-04), of the December 11 public holiday which was created at the end of 2010 (2010-12-10).

In the aforementioned list of 2021 Madagascar public holidays, the 2 public holidays previously reserved for Muslims (2014-02-13 and 2013-01-30), are once again for the entire population (2016-01-05, 2015-04-30 and 2015-03-26) and we can expect 2 additional one-off non-working public holidays in 2021 in Madagascar, as was done in the past (2020-07-28, 2019-05-30, 2018-12-13, 2018-09-21, 2013-08-19, 2013-06-07, 2013-02-10, 2012-08-02, 2012-07-19, 2012-06-08, 2011-01-15, 2011-01-10, 2010-12-20, and 2010-11-16).
