The Government of India's State of Madhya Pradesh has announced that the upcoming, August 9, World Tribal Day would no longer be a gazetted public holiday, but rather an optional holiday.
The list of the days which were to be non-working public holidays in India's State of Madhya Pradesh during the calendar year 2021, was announced in the "Government of Madhya Pradesh vide notification No. F.3.1.2020", late last year (2020-12-08).
This initial list of 2021 public holidays in Madhya Pradesh included a gazetted public holiday for World Tribal Day, on August 9, 2021, in line with the the preceding year's announcement by the Government of India's State of Madhya Pradesh that, from 2020 onward, it would observe an annual non-working public holiday in Madhya Pradesh on August 9, on account of the annual World Tribal Day (2019-12-27).
