Nepal's Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, has announced that the government of Nepal had declared Saturday, December 25, 2021, as a public holiday on December 25 "on the occasion of Christmas festival".

The aforementioned declaration of Saturday, December 25, 2021, as a public holiday in Nepal, represents a further slight departure (2021-12-18) from the gazetted list of official non-working public holidays in Nepal for the Nepalese year 2078 (April 2021-April 2022), in which the Christmas Day public holiday was nationwide, but limited to Christians (2021-04-02).
