Youm-e-Ashur (10th day of Muharram) will be on August 19 (Thursday)".

Today's announcement is in line with the the list of 2021 public holidays in Pakistan, as announced in the circular "Public and Optional Holidays for the calendar year, 2021", signed by the Deputy Secretary, Flak Sher Virk, late last year (2020-12-10).

However, there is the possibility that the federal government of Pakistan will extend the public holiday for the upcoming Ashura holiday of Pakistan, for a second day, as was done last year (2020-08-25).
