Paraguay's president, Mario Abdo Benítez, has released the executive decree No.6418 making Tuesday, December 7, 2021, a one-off public sector holiday in Paraguay, beginning at 12:00 noon local time.

This decree applies to "funcionarios de la Administración Pública y Entidades Descentralizadas del Estado", and is in addition to the list of annual non-working public holidays in Paraguay for 2021, and precedes the December 8 annual nationwide public holiday in Paraguay for the Virgen de Caacupé.

In the past, under similar circumstances, Paraguay's respective presidents, had signed executive decrees making the afternoon of December 7, a one-off public sector holiday (2018-12-02, 2017-12-04, 2016-12-05, 2015-12-04, 2010-12-07 and 2009-12-07).
