Philippines Amun Jadid Public Holiday August 10

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has announced that the upcoming Amun Jadid or Islamic New Year 1443 would be observed as an official public holiday on Tuesday, August 10, 2021, in the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga del Norte and Sur, and in the cities of Cotabato, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian, and Zamboanga.

The Philippines observe 2 Islamic annual non-working public holidays at the national level: the End of Ramadan (2004-10-25, 2003-11-11, 2002-01-23, 2001-12-08, 2001-11-05) and the Feast of Sacrifice (2014-09-16, 2014-07-14, 2010-01-04, 2009-10-30, 2009-09-01, 2009-07-18 and 2009-04-05).

As per the Presidential Decree No. 1083, Article 169 (Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines on February 4, 1977), the ARMM (Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao) also observes the Prophet's Birthday (2014-01-11), the Prophet's Ascension, and Islamic New Year (2014-10-23), as regional non-working public holidays.
