Australia's state of Queensland has officially canceled the Royal Queensland Show public holiday, which had been gazetted for next Wednesday, August 11, 2021, due to a worsening Covid-19 outbreak in the State of Queensland ("The day previously appointed has been repealed").
Earlier this week (2021-08-04), the Deputy Premier of Australia's state of Queensland, Steven Miles, had announced that the Royal Queensland Show public holiday, on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, had been canceled, thus amending the list of 2021 Queensland public holidays, as announced at the end of 2019 (2019-11-30).
Last year's Royal Queensland Show was also moved, though only from Wednesday, August 12, 2020, to Friday, August 14, 2020, to adjoin the subsequent weekend (2020-05-21).
