The Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (Majilis Ugama Islam Singapura) has released its annual official Islamic Calendar to be used in Singapore for the calendar year 2022, in particular for the determination of the dates of Singapore's 2 annual non-working public holidays based on the Hijra calendar.
Although the initial list of public holidays announced by MOM always contains the mention "Subject to change", the dates of the 2 annual Muslim public holidays in Singapore have never, in recent history, been modified after the initial MOM announcement, contrary to the Deepavali Singapore non-working public holiday, which in past years was often incorrectly announced (2014-04-07, 2013-04-09, 2009-02-10, 2008-03-27, 2003-04-11, and 2002-03-04).
But, last year the date of the 2021 Hari Raya Haji (Feast of Sacrifice) was different in the Majilis Ugama Islam Singapura listing (2020-10-23) as compared to the previous summer's MOM list of 2021 public holidays (2020-06-24).
Then, this year Singapore's Ministry of Manpower released an amended list of non-working Singapore public holidays and bank holidays in the calendar year 2022, following the decision by MUIS (Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura) to move the 2 Muslim public holidays of Singapore in 2022 (2021-10-21 and 2020-01-13).
