The Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Ralph Gonsalves, while rejecting Covid-19 curfews, lockdown measures, or the declaration of a state of emergency, has declared Friday and Monday, January 22 and 25, 2021, as public health public holidays in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
The declaration of one-off public holidays on Friday and Monday, January 22 and 25, 2021, thus amends the official list of bank holidays and non-working public holidays in St Vincent and the Grenadines for the calendar year 2021, as released earlier this year (2021-01-11), in accordance with the Public Holidays Act (Cap.206) and subsequent Public Holidays (Amendment) Bill, 2001 (2001-12-20, 2001-11-13, 2001-10-17 and 2001-01-11).
