Suriname's Minister of the Interior, Bronto Somohardjo, has announced that the decision to keep or cancel the February 25 Revodag public holiday will be made at the next meeting of the Suriname Council of Ministers, on Friday, February 5, 2021.

February 25 was a public holiday in Suriname from 1981 to 1987.

Then, a decade ago, the Council of Ministers of Suriname declared February 25 as a public holiday again, beginning in 2011 (2011-02-06 and 2011-01-27).

Last month (2021-01-12), Mr. Somohardjo speaking as the new Minister of the Interior of Suriname, had stated that it wouldn't be a bad idea to cancel the February 25, annual public holiday observed in Suriname.
