The Kamrup Deputy Commissioner of India's state of Assam, has declared a local public holiday on Saturday, March 19, 2022, within the the entire district for the Dol Jatra and Holi celebrations.
The aforementioned Memo No. GAG(A) 206/2013/166-A, signed by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Assam, General Administration Department, M.S. Manivannan, reads as follows "The Governor of Assam Is pleased to declare local holiday on 19th March, 2022 within the jurisdiction Kamrup (Metro) district on account of Dol Jatra/ Holi festival. All State Govt offices, educational institutions within Kamrup(Metro) district will remain closed on 19th March, 2022 on account of this holiday.".
It then goes on to clarify that "All financial institutions within Kamru (Metro) district under Section 25 of N.f. Act, 1881 (XXrV of 1881) read with the Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Notification No.20/25/Pub-I dated 8th June 1957 will also remain closed on account of this holiday.".
