Gambian Electoral Public Holiday April 9

The President of the Gambia, Adama Barrow, has approved the Gambian Independent Electoral Commission’s request to declare Saturday, April 9, 2022, a one-off public holiday, on account of the upcoming National Assembly Election and "to allow all registered voters to vote in their respective constituencies".

Election-related public holidays are not uncommon in the Gambia (2021-12-02, 2018-05-10, 2018-04-10, 2011-11-21, 2011-11-24, 2006-12-18, 2006-12-01).
