Ghana's Minister for the Interior, Ambrose Dery, has issued a communique announcing that the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) public holiday would be observed on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

The brief communique reads "The general public is hereby informed that Tuesday, 3rd May, 2022 which marks Eid-ul-Fitr, is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.".

The aforementioned declaration of Tuesday, May 3, 2022, as the date of the upcoming Eid-Ul-Fitr (End of Ramadan) non-working public holiday in Ghana, is in line with past announcements (2021-05-07, 2020-05-20, 2019-05-31, 2018-06-14, 2017-06-19, 2016-06-30, 2015-07-17, 2015-07-13, 2014-07-21, 2013-08-05, 2012-08-16, 2011-08-26,2008-09-25,2007-12-15, 2010-09-07, 2009-09-15, 2008-12-03 and 2007-10-10), and is in line with the list of official 2022 non-working public holidays in Ghana, announced earlier this year (2022-01-11).

Note that, earlier today, the same Minister for the Interior announced that Sunday, May 1, 2022, would be a public holiday in Ghana, and that "the President of the Republic of Ghana, has by Executive Instrument (E.I), in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, (Act 601) declared Monday, 2nd May, 2022 as an additional Public Holiday" (2022-04-25).
