Guatemala's Government has confirmed that there were no plans to move the date of the upcoming Sunday, May 1st, 2022, public holiday of Guatemala to the following Monday ("no se correrá el asueto y la jornada será normal").

The aforementioned announcement that the upcoming Labor Day public holiday would be observed on Sunday, May 1st, 2022, is in line with the list of 2022 Guatemala public holidays (2021-12-10) and in line with the 2020 ruling by Guatemala's Constitutional Court (2020-04-16), removing the May 1st and October 20 public holidays from the scope of the 2018 Law of Internal Tourism (2018-10-11, 2018-09-26 and 2018-08-09).

That Law of Internal Tourism, through the Decreto 19-2018, had mandated that the May 1st, June 30th and October 20th, annual public holidays, when falling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays or Sundays, should be moved to the working day immediately before or after the weekend.
