The spokesperson for the Jordanian Ministry of Education, Ahmed Al-Masaafa, has issued a circular confirming that the decision to close schools on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, included all public and private schools.

Recall that, earlier this month (2022-03-10), Jordanian Prime Minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh, had announced that Tuesday, March 22, 2022, would be a one-off public holiday in Jordan, "on the occasion of holding the provincial council elections, municipal councils, and the Amman Municipality Council", thus further amending (2022-01-26) the list of religious and national non-working public holidays and bank holidays in Jordan for the calendar year 2022, as released last autumn (2021-11-08).

Electoral public holidays have been declared on a reasonably regular basis in the past (2020-11-02, 2017-08-13, 2016-09-08, 2016-07-20, ...).
