Earlier today, the Tripoli-based Libyan Center for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (LCRSSS) has announced that the new moon of Shawwal would not be visible tonight and therefore "Sunday, May 1, will be the last day of the Ramadan month and the first day of Eid al-Fitr will be on Monday, May 2".
The aforementioned announcement that Monday, May 2, 2022, had been set as the date of the upcoming Eid Al-Fitr (End of Ramadan), is in line with the overhaul of Libyan public holidays carried-out in 2012 (2012-01-08), and the list of official non-working 2022 public holidays in Libya as announced by the Libyan government, early this year (2022-01-24).
